The Fourth Degree Color Corps

Certain members of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus volunteer to serve in the Color Corps, participating as Honor Guards and Color Guards at religious, fraternal, civic, and patriotic events. Their dignified presence has become one of the most recognizable traditions of the Knights of Columbus throughout the world.

The Color Corps is the public face of the Fourth Degree. Whether standing in solemn tribute at a funeral, honoring the Blessed Sacrament during Eucharistic celebrations, or participating in patriotic ceremonies, Color Corps members visibly demonstrate the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism that define our Order.

Admission to the Fourth Degree does not automatically make a Sir Knight a member of the Color Corps. Membership is entirely voluntary and is open to Sir Knights who wish to serve the Church, the Order, and their communities through this unique ministry of honor and ceremonial service.

When the Color Corps Serves

Upon request and subject to the availability of our Sir Knights, the Color Corps is honored to participate in a variety of events, including:

  • Funeral Masses, wakes, and memorial services for Brother Knights, Sir Knights, clergy, and other individuals as approved by the Assembly.

  • Confirmations and other significant parish or diocesan liturgical celebrations.

  • Eucharistic Adoration, Corpus Christi processions, Benediction, and other Eucharistic celebrations.

  • Ordinations, installations, dedications, anniversaries, and special parish events.

  • Knights of Columbus Assembly, District, State, and Supreme functions.

  • Patriotic observances, veterans' ceremonies, Memorial Day and Veterans Day services, and other civic commemorations.

  • Additional religious, fraternal, or civic events approved by the Faithful Navigator.

The Assembly is privileged to provide this service whenever possible and is grateful for the dedication of the Sir Knights who volunteer their time to represent the Knights of Columbus with honor, dignity, and reverence.
