Assembly Hosts Parish Veterans to Mass, Rosary & Reception

The Knights of Columbus Assembly 3154 of St. Catherine of Siena invited veterans of the parish to a Mas in their honor, followed by a Patriotic Rosary for Veterans Day, and a reception in the parish Family Life Center.

Veterans from all branches of our armed services were in attendance. Veterans and member of the Assembly Color Corps gathered in the Narthex and engaged in conversation. The Color Corps then escorted the veterans down the main aisle for all to see and honor them.

Mass was then celebrated by Fr. Maurice Culver MD, himself a veteran. At the conclusion of Mass, Fr. Maurice offered a blessing for all veterans, as they stood, once again to be recognized.

After Mass, the Color Corps reassembled and approached the altar, where members of the Assembly led a Patriotic Rosary with reflections for Veterans Day. Opening remarks were made by the Color Corps Commander, Lou Manz, with Distirct Deputy and Faithful Navigator, Tom Scherch, Sir Knights Johnny Thielen and David Coughlin leading meditations for each decade. At the conclusion of the Rosary, Fr. Andrzej Mitera led the Litany of St. Joseph.

Rosary attendees walked over to Lademia Hall in the parish Family Life Center, where they gathered with others on hand for a reception, complete with sandwiches, beverages, and desserts.

A big thank you to all of our veterans for their service to our country. Thanks also to all who helped with the Rosary and reception.
