Knights of Columbus Council 7399
Business (General) Meeting April 11, 2024
Call to Order - Grand Knight Lou Manz called Meeting to Order at 7:03.
Opening Prayer-Grand Knight led the Council in Opening Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes from March approved with one modification:
The Delegates going to the State Convention are Grand Knight Lou Manz and Recorder Joel D Kendrick. The March Minutes incorrectly stated the Delegates would be Grand Knight and Financial secretary David Counts. David Counts and David Coughlin are alternates.
Chaplain Report-Chaplain Father Andy Mitera Absent.
Grand Knight Report
Feast of Annunciation, Bishop Pohlmeier said a Mass for people at the Abortion Clinic. Disappointed with lack of Media coverage despite large gathering.
The Council is on a trajectory toward Star Council Status. One stumbling block has been removed. Joel D Kendrick has agreed to serve as a Family Director and will complete training in Safe Environment.
Weekly Newsletter will become Monthly in May.
April Social Meeting Cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Also because the Spaghetti Dinner.
Church will handle the wall touch up. Knights volunteered but will not be needed.
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Michael Gambone Reports:
1) Balances as of March 31, 2024
a) Council Account 1803-$2,347.85
b) Money Market 4963-$3,114.81
c) Charity Account 0010-$17,099.39
d) BINGO Account 3255-$5,983.93
Due to the success of BINGO in February, the Council was able to write a check to the Parish for the purpose of assisting with the Parish Cleaning Cost, as well as the Parish Life Center Mortgage and for the Cleaning.
Financial Secretary
Financial Secretary Vanoy Counts Reports:
207 members
New member quota is 12, so far 5 new members.
We have an application for new member Nicholas Rojas. Council approves the application unanimously.
Trustees:
Still working on collection of past dues.
Faith Director:
No Faith Director, however, Grand Knight reports:
Still a need for Adorers.
Family Director:
Grand Knight reports:
Joel D Kendrick has agreed to serve as Family Director
Prayer Service for Siblings was held in the Chapel on April 10. It Went well. next Prayer Night will be Wednesday May 8; then one before Fathers Day in June.
Community Director:
Dan Costello absent, however Grand Knight Reports:
1) Challenge Enterprise Dance will be on postponed indefinitely. Likely next Fraternal Year.
Life Director Report:

1) Pro Abortion Amendment on the Ballot in the General Election.
2. Spaghetti Fundraiser on the 27th.
Hispanic Round Table:
Director Silva says working on putting together the Hispanic Round Table. Grand Knight reports there will be a Patriotic Rosary 4th Degree in Spanish on April 27.
BINGO Committee:
Cliff Plante Reports
1) Successful BINGO-151 people, 108 packets. $3400 net from last event.
2. David Counts has agreed to be a new Caller for BINGO
Prayer Chalice Transfer:
District Deputy Tom Scherch proposes various Ministries receive the Chalice, due to disbanding of several neighborhood groups. First group to receive the Chalice would be the Justice and Peace Ministry.
Degree Team:
Pete Sikora not present; however Grand Knight reports
Next Exemplification will be on May 1.
There will be another Fraternal Drive on April 20 and 21.
Breakfast Committee:
Next Quarterly Breakfast will be June 23.
Rosary Initiative:
Grand Knight Reports:
1) Continued All Positive Feedback about the Rosary prior to the 5:00 and 8:00 Masses
Old Business:

150 Tickets sold/200 Tickets will be the goal.
Things coming together well for the planning.
Raising Money for 4D Ultra Sound Machine.
Communication
Grand Knight Reports:
receiving a lot of requests for Financial Help,
Looking for assistance in setting up the Community Band Event.
New Business
1) No new Bills
2) The Council will have a food drive from Mother's Day until Father's Day. The Council has $500 for Gift Cards. Food Collected for St Vincent de Paul as well as potentially the Food Pantry
Report of the 4th Degree:

1) Patriotic Exemplification on August 24 at San Juan del Rio
2) Virtual Spanish Exemplification coming on as well.
3) Grand Knight Reports the next Patriotic Rosary will be held on Memorial Day.
