Business (General) Meeting May 9, 2024

Call to Order - Grand Knight Lou Manz called Meeting to Order at 7:02 pm.

Opening Prayer-Grand Knight led the Council in Opening Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes from April 2024 Approved

Chaplain Report-Chaplain Father Andy Mitera Absent.

Grand Knight Report

1. The Grand Knight Distributed a sign up sheet for all Brothers to order shirts.

2. The Grand Knight introduced and welcomed 3 new members.

3. The Grand Knight thanked everyone for their efforts to make the Spaghetti Dinner/Fundraiser a success.

4. The Grand Knight Reports that the Mass on Tuesday May 21, has been cancelled due to Father Mitera's unexpected trip to Poland.

5. 5 new nights added in April Exemplification.

6. Monthly Newsletter "Ship Log" has resumed in May.

7. Next Social Meeting will be May 23.

8. State Convention to be held May 24-26. The Grand Knight and Recorder Joel D Kendrick will attend.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer Michael Gambone Reports:

1)      Balances as of April 30, 2024

a)       Council Account 1803-$2,448.25

b)      Money Market 4963-$3,002.27

c)       Charity Account 0010-$19,758.92

d)      BINGO Account 3255-$5,818.34

Due to the continued success of BINGO i the Council was able to write a check to the Parish for the purpose of assisting with the Parish Cleaning Cost, as well as the Parish Life Center Mortgage and for the Cleaning.

Financial Secretary

Financial Secretary Vanoy Counts Absent; however Grand Knight Reports:

1. We need 3 new members to meet quota of 12, however that is subject to change there has been an issue with the email address to send Form 100.

Trustees:

Grand Knight reports Annual Audit coming up end of June.

Faith Director:

No Faith Director, however, Grand Knight reports:

1. Still a need for Adorers.

2. COR Meeting Tuesday May 21 at 7pm

3. Father Andy would like a Feast of Corpus Christi Procession by Color Corps at June 1 Mass.

Family Director:

Grand Knight reports:

1. Joel D Kendrick has agreed to serve as Family Director

2. Prayer Service for Fathers will be June 12.

3. Knights of Columbus recognizes "I love my spouse" Month in June.

Community Director:

1. Grand Knight Reports that the KOC Food Drive continues through Fathers Day.

2. Urban Plunge Send Off Mass will be June 9, need volunteers to assist.

3. Challenge Enterprise Dance Postponed until September 27.

Life Director Report:

Dave Coughlin Reports:

1) Pro Abortion Amendment on the Ballot in the General Election. (Vote No encouraged).

2) Jay Heather Reports Spaghetti Dinner Successful. Overall Receipts $13,360. (unofficial). The Knights have raised enough to Match Supreme in purchasing a 4d Ultra Sound Machine. Also enough raised so that other charitable commitments can be achieved.

Hispanic Round Table:

The Grand Knight reports that the Florida State Council has a Hispanic Field Agent that can help with recruiting and other Field Agent duties.

BINGO Committee:

The Bingo Committee reported that turnout for the first Bingo in May was light.

Prayer Chalice Transfer:

Fr. Andy has requested that the Vocations Prayer Chalice Transfer take place at the 5:00 pm Mass on Saturday, June 1. It is also the Feast of Corpus Christi and he would like the chalice to be processed with the Eucharist.

Degree Team:

Tentative scheduled exemplification on June 22 after the 5:00 pm Mass.

Breakfast Committee:

Next Quarterly Breakfast will be June 23.

Rosary Initiative:

Still looking for additional volunteers.

No Report. Grand Knight reports that we have met our Fraternal Benefit Night obligations.

Report of the Fourth Degree:

Faithful Navigator Tom Scherch was not present. Grand Knight reported that there will be a Memorial Day Patriotic Rosary on May 27 at 6+:30 pm. The next Patriotic Rosary will be August 24 at San Juan del Rio in Jacksonville.
