Council Remembers Brother Knight Greg Donaldson

On Friday, December 19, 2025, our Brother Sir Knight, Greg Donald passed away after a long battle with an illness. Greg was a retired Chief Petty Officer who served his country in the US Navy and our community greatly until he became sick. Sir Greg held a few roles in our council up to the level of Deputy Grand Knight. He also could be found in the kitchen serving as Co-Chair of the B Breakfast team with Jay Heather cooking on the griddle his scrambled eggs back when we did breakfasts every month.

In the Assembly 3154, he held several positions up to and including Faithful Navigator. His longest position was the Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service (VAVS) Chairman . Every month he would go to the VA office in St Augustine and deliver coffee supplies so our veterans could have some coffee during their visit. He truly cared about our Vets.

Greg also spent time sharing his wisdom on how to master their Navy Advancement tests for our active duty. He was a very caring person with a great sense of humor.

Greg loved his family and was a excellent example of a family man and husband. He and Kathy were married 56 years.

Throughout his long term illness his wife, Kathy, was a great example a devoted wife during their long marriage especially exemplifying her vows “in sickness and in health" until he left us from this life.

Greg’s funeral was held at St Catherine’s on Friday, January 16th.
