A host of Knights and Lady Knights were on hand to assist with the St. Catherine of Siena Parish Picnic and Community Yard Sale. The event had originally been planned for August 5, but the ominous rainy weather forecast caused planners to move the date to August 19. Although one of the hottest days of the summer, volunteers from the Council were on hand to help prepare, cook, and serve hotdogs, hamburgers, and Italian sausage at our "Chuck Wagon-style" food concession.

The Council also sponsored the inflatable slide that helped to keep the younger attendees cool in the oppressive summer heat. As Fr. Andy enjoyed lunch from the Chuck Wagon, he said that we will have to consider having another event like this during the hottest time of the year. He also said that this event was not a substitute for our Annual Parish Bazaar.
