Tony Claro named Knight of the Month for September 2023

September 28, 2023

This Knight transferred into the parish and immediately had an impact on the parish and the Council.

Born in Oklahoma City, he attended Andrew Johnson Elementary School before attending Christ the King Catholic Grade School.  He became a Knight in 2013 while at St.  Eugene Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. He joined to become more active with his faith and took advantage of the Knights of Columbus insurance program.

He is an accountant by trade, but an Oklahoma Sooners fan on Saturdays, and a Dallas Cowboys fan on Sundays; although, he says he has become a Jaguars fan. He finds it interesting that the mascot for Andrew Johnson, his first school, was the Jaguars.

He has been a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena for less than a year. He is a Eucharistic Minister and actively supports the Council.  He is on the Bingo team and is always ready to help when needed. Shortly after joining the Council, he became a Fourth Degree Knight at the Patriotic Exemplification held in Jacksonville.

He is a sports fan who likes to work out and read. He is proud that Judge Luther Bohanon, one of the lawyers from his father’s law firm was the Federal Judge in Denver Colorado who instituted bussing across the country during the civil rights movement and that Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch is from the same Federal Appellate Court in Denver.

For his contributions to the Knights of Columbus and the parish, the Knights of Columbus of St. Catherine of Siena recognizes Tony Claro as its Knight of the Month for September.  Congratulations, Tony!
